The images we have seen of Rogue Trooper are reason to be hopeful for Duncan Jones film. But given that we could end up with Stallone’s Judge Dredd, rather than Urban’s Dredd, is reason enough to be cautious.
If it hits the ground running and is a good adaptation and a success, then all well and good. If it were to crash and burn, honestly, we still have the comics — and they are the heart and soul of what Rogue Trooper is.
I like that it is going with classic Rogue, with his 3 biochip buddies — Helm, Gunnar, and Bagman. But I would have been happy if Friday had got the spotlight too, as it was a really effective reboot. I have lived with Rogue Trooper most of my life and during all that time it has been a comic.
