I’d only watched this once before. It stuck with me, but I had forgotten a lot about this movie.
The disbelief and distrust that the other cops have for Jamie Lee’s character makes you wonder how she ever got on the force if she is that lacking in credibility. Even after she gets raped.
I get that the force is kind of being portrayed as a boy’s club, but it isn’t like that the whole way through the movie. Or at least not with every character — but they don’t really stand with her.
There are parts that don’t make much sense either — like when she is being targetted and they don’t put a detail on her. They don’t really dig into the guy she accuses. She also seems unable to fire off a single shot, apart from in her training, which she passes off-screen.
Ron Silver as Eugene Hunt is very entertaining. He is intense. Weirdly so at some points.
The funniest thing is that despite all its flaws, it is a very watchable movie. Silly and watchable.
