I grew up watching Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin and I still think they stand up as comic geniuses. I love watching Laurel and Hardy. I have to admit that the 3 Stooges weren\’t something I saw much of. I am not big into Buster Keaton. But Harold Lloyd was amazing — those stunts had me on the edge of my seat and they do compete with what\’s out there today. You really felt for the characters in these stories because they had to convey so much more than their latterday equivalents in the talkies. I think maybe the jaunty tune at the start snagged me initially and maybe having a black and white tv reduced the strangeness of the experience. Some kids who grew up with colour tv from an early age found black and white stuff weird. Yeah — \’Say hooray for Harold Lloyd, ba-dap ba-dah-dah.\’
