Bridget Everett as Sam is great and Jeff Hiller as Joel is her perfect sidekick. I like this kind of low-key comedy. It is a little like mumblecore with the pacing and the way the laughs are pitched. The way it rolls it can easily slip into tackling other subjects too, like loss, and grief and family, and depression.
Sometimes the comedic package allows you to come in at angles and with a lightness of touch that a full-on drama might not allow. We\’re only two episodes in, but I\’m excited for where it might go and what it might become.
