Looking Forward: Moon Knight

I haven\’t really read too much of Moon Knight. I know that I really enjoyed the Warren Ellis run that revived him. The art from Declan Shalvey and the sparse noirish storytelling were perfectly matched. It was a clean, lean, and fluid way that cut right to the heart of the character\’s central conceits. It simultaneously dealt with a compressed origin story and ran headlong into the tale that we were most concerned with — what is Moon Knight doing now. it was for much more enjoyable than the Michael Bendis version I read recently, which delivered a very workmanlike and clunky depiction of the multiple personality disorder that the character suffers from. Here\’s hoping that this show leans into the first version and away from the latter version. This character has a lot of depth and really brings something unique to the Marvel Universe. Oscar Isaac is pretty reliable, remaining watchable in films that lack the kind of script you would hope he is given to work on, but I hope it all gels here.
