How many people are out there who can look at a serious issue in the world and wrap it in humor so people can swallow it, without diluting the impact of the message? There are definitely more than there used to be, but John Stewart is one of the best. If you\’ve seen him defending firefighters and other 911 First Responders you know how real this is for him and how deeply he feels it, and how passionately and intelligently he can argue on behalf of those whose voices generally get ignored. Using your spotlight to shine it into the dark heart of some of the more difficult to confront issues in the world is a great thing. It was a little sad when he disappeared from TV and it is kind of great that he is back.
