Comicsphere: The Future Foundation by Jonathan Hickman

Thank you, Jonathan Hickman, for giving me the Fantastic Four back. In simpler times I watched the cartoon on TV, and this was before DVD and the Internet, so it took a while to piece the story together, but I loved the idea of them.

They were, to me at least, a slightly different proposition at the time to some of the other super heroes I was aware of. There seemed to be more thinking involved with them, but when clobbering time was necessary they brought that to the table to.

Somewhere along the line they lost their relevance for me, and I started to consider then cheesy … There wasn\’t an iteration of them that had really drawn me in and convinced me the idea still worked. Between the cartoon and the rekindled version in FF, if I read anything beyond a couple of comics and their appearance in Death\’s Head then I don\’t remember it.

FF seduced with the new suits, and the atmosphere established itself quickly, and I powered through the story. It did for me what All Star Superman did with that character … It humanised and reenergised the whole thing for me. I\’d didn\’t expect that, but it was more than welcome.

I recommend this series wholeheartedly.
