33 Postcards by Pauline Chan (2011)

\"33I thought this was going to be more involving than it was. It was easy to watch and the low-key acting was easy enough to believe, but it was basically something with the feel of a television movie.

Solid yet unspectacular, it was a movie that I don\’t feel robbed by for the time I spent with it, but I also don\’t think it is going to deliver more on repeated viewings, and is not something, cinematography-wise, or acting-wise, that I would have paid to see in a cinema.

I would happily watch another film by this director. None of the unknown actors particularly stood out to me. I think what I was hoping for was something spectacular from Guy Pearce, something to rival Memento, but he just doesn\’t seem to be getting the material of late … unless I have missed something. It\’s a shame – he really is a great actor.
