I know it\’s probably not the best thing to be floating theories around before something is notionally out of the gates but there is enough of intrigue already in the Freakangels to get the old noggin working. I was wondering what the significance of Jack The Ripper might be to Freakangels given that it is set in Whitechapel and that one of the characters lives above the Ten Bells, Jack The Ripper\’s local apparently. Well, today, Mr Ellis has returned to the fray on the Whitechapel forum site, after a long computer problem enforced absence, and put paid to that idea by saying there is absolutely no connection.
OK, so what about the 23/17 phenomenon favoured by the Discordians? I had mentioned that in the same thread but pretty much everyone glossed over it. To quote the story \”23 years ago 12 strange children were born in England at exactly the same moment. 6 years ago the world ended.\” 23 – 6 = 17. So tell me that this is a coincidence, and that I am imagining it. It must have some significance. I am not expecting an answer from Mr Ellis in any other form than the series, but you might think that others would be curious?
Ah, probably best to just sit back and enjoy the story, which I am doing. Still, hard not to puzzle at these things and tease out possibilities.
