I read descriptions of this show that said it has no redeemable or likable characters. While I don’t think that’s necessarily true, it is a very claustrophobic show. When that first domino falls and the rally running through people\\’s lives puts them in places where making likable decisions is not really an easy thing, it is true that their better natures are not really on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One person’s act, then another’s guilt as it gets stirred up, and another’s bad decision, sets the whole show rolling along on a downhill course. Given the genre we’re operating in here it’s not exactly unexpected though. I suppose people expect some light though. Mare of East Town, <\/em>steeped in equally dark material, did have some love and some humour thrown into the mix. But this isn’t that show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Does it do what it is meaning to do? I think so. Some of the sunlight people want may have seeped in by the end. I am a couple of episodes away from the conclusion. I find it well-acted and well thought out. But it is something you need to pivot away from into the brightness sometimes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
