\nsurely, no glib platitude will do;
\nperhaps if i direct you
\nvia an unselective squint,
\na comment dropped in sparse humour\\’s net,
\nthen the revelation can be shared:
\nbut here, past that moment,
\ndoubt gathers …
\nthe breath, held, dropped,
\nit\\’s not enough of a hint —
\na slow accretion of amnesia\\’s skins
