I enjoyed this immensely. I am glad that Battling Boy is coming close on its heels, because this whets the appetite. Pope is like none other when it comes to generating a kinetic breakneck speed of narrative, where you find yourself sprinting alongside some quirky characters. In a totally sane world Paul Pope would be revered as a god among men and given as much money as he needed so that he could draw whatever he wanted to draw. If you have never read any Paul Pope before something tells me that this is the perfect jumping on point, because this one has legs. Anything that gives free reign to Pope’s amazing art and storytelling abilities is more than OK in my books.
