Meet Emma Verne. Emma is a spunky, street-smart girl who lives aboard the spacefaring airship city Ursae. Raised by her foster parents Lord and Lady Beauvolt, Emma has developed a knack for creating mischief about the city – both helpful and harmful. But Emma’s troublemaking is quickly overshadowed when a group of orcish immigrants arrive aboard the cityship. When her orcish friend Humphrey’s brother is arrested under questionable circumstances, Emma and Humphrey scour the city to find out why. The trail leads them from pirates to naval officers to the very Lords of the Fleet – and a shadowy saboteur with a deadly agenda.
In the further adventures of a hyperlink clicker this popped up in the sidebars of facebook today and whereas I usually ignore everything except what I went on there to look at, in a major effort to avoid facebook brainfreeze, I clicked and found this little gem. Wonderful illustrations in a format that oddly reminded me of Rupert The Bear. Anyway, spurious thoughts aside, what few pages I have browsed through have me hooked and have me wanting to track down and follow this story through.
