culture vulture: carmine magazine

painting by zoetica ebb Thankfully there are more and more entry points becoming available into different areas of the creative sphere — every single time you make one discovery there are a thousand more in attendance — all hyperlinked and convenient for you. To claim these days that you cannot find inspiration is a pretty lame thing to say. Not something you can get away with considering the way information is organised in the world. So in my stepping stone game of discover one thing and from that find others it went somewhat like this — warren ellis to zoetica ebb (whose art is picture above) to carmine magazine and all the wonderful artists contained therein. It has a pretty simple format — a set of questions that is asked of each artist, and it really works. They have managed to get some really interesting people who give well considered answers that give you a real insight into the creative process of people producing beautiful art. You get to see wonderful examples of the artwork as well and if it doesn’t enrich your world then there is something wrong with you.

  1. Hey Skull Cull,
I saw this post months ago when you made it and I don’t think I ever thanked you for it. So, thank you very very much. I added part of this post to Carmine Magazine’s ‘About’ page as a testimonial.
You can check it out here: http://carminemag.com/about/

    Again, thank you so much!
